Willam Russell Legg, 85, of Clay, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 16, 2012. Born December 3, 1926 in Clay County, he was the son of the late Henry and Ida (Brown) Legg. He was a Navy WWII veteran, retired from Union Carbide and a member of the Fola Freewill Baptist Church. Russell is survived by his wife, Theo (Hamrick) Legg, sons, David (Pauline) of Covington , VA, Charles Legg of Clay, daughters, Janice (Jerry) Preast, Peggy Legg Gray, Alice Legg all of Charleston, 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M. Sunday, November 18, 2012 at Wilson-Shamblin-Smith Funeral Home, Clay, with Minister Teddy Legg and Minister Daniel Tanner officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Cemetery, Bickmore. Friends may call 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
