Gary Salisbury, 73, of Clay, passed away at home, unexpectedly on Friday, July 18, 2014.
He was a Veteran of the United States Army, and upon discharge resided in Lorain, OH for over 20 years where he was a Wire Form Supervisor for Lorain Products. He then moved to WV, where he retired from Central Testing.
Born February 8, 1941 in Widen, he is the son of Marie (Underwood) Salisbury and the late Wilbert Salisbury.
He was a loving father and pawpaw. He loved to garden and be outdoors, as well as take care of everyone in his life. He enjoyed spending time with his companion, Phyllis; and will be deeply missed by those that loved him.
Survivors include his sons, Jeff (Dawn) Salisbury of Clay and Mike (Mary Jo) Salisbury of Amherst, OH; grandchildren, Cody (Brittany) Salisbury, Michael Salisbury, Megan Salisbury, Derek Salisbury, Karlie Salisbury and Dalton Salisbury; great-grandchildren, Karsen White, Coltin Salisbury and Kooper Salisbury; brothers, Jimmy (Shelia) Salisbury of Clay, Larry (Cheri) Salisbury of OH, Lloyd (Stephanie) Salisbury of PA; sister, Ruth (Randall) Workman of Dixie; companion, Phyllis Workman; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Gary was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Loretta (Adkins) Salisbury, to whom he was married for 43 years.
Services will take place at 1 PM on Monday, July 21, 2014 at Wilson-Shamblin-Smith Funeral Home, Clay with the Minister Wayne Litton officiating. Burial will follow at Adkins Cemetery, Dog Run.
The family will receive friends 2 hours prior to the funeral service.

It was with deep sadness that Bob and I heard the news of Gary's passing. He was very dear to us and we will greatly miss our long phone chats and the almost daily emails.
