Rosetta “Rose” Pritt, 88, of Hartland, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Monday, September 21, 2015.

Born October 1, 1926, in Delbarton, Mingo County, she was the daughter of the late Clark and Hollie (McCumbers) McClain. In addition to her parents, Rosetta was also preceded in death by her husband, Sherman Pritt in 1997. She lost her youngest daughter, Geraldine Nottingham in July of 2012. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Verdis McClain and Bev McClain, sisters, Peggy Weese and Corrine Stewart.

Those left to cherish her memories are her sons, Darrell Pritt of Clay, Roy Pritt of Maysel and her “baby boy” Milford Pritt of Bomont, and her daughter, Gloria White of Hartland.  Rose also raised two granddaughters, as her own, Amy Pritt Cottrell of Clay and Michelle Pritt McKinney of Clay. She leaves behind 13 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in me has everlasting life” John 6:47.

As grandma always told us “Put your trust in Jesus”

The family wants to thank her special caregiver, Allie Stewart. Also, special thanks to Dr. Goins and all the care givers at the Hubbard Hospice House.

Funeral service will be held 1:00 P.M. Friday, September 25, 2015 at Wilson-Shamblin-Smith Funeral Home, Clay with Minister B.J. Evans officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Cemetery, Bickmore

So sorry to hear Aunt Rosie has passed. Although I did not get to know her as an adult, I do remember the love she showed me as a small child when my family would come down to WV. She will always and forever be in our hearts and memories. Love you Great Aunt Rosie!

I am very sorry for your loss. We can look forward to the time when “no resident will say: ‘I am sick.’” (Isaiah 33:24) And God will actually put an end to death when he will “swallow up death forever.” (Isaiah 25:8)
