I was saddened to learn of the passing of Leonard, my very first bus driver when I started school at Clay Elementary. I can very vividly recall the bus door opening and a terrified small kindergarten student staring up at the gruff, huge figure of a man staring back at him. Looks were indeed deceiving, though, as this man was the kindest, gentlest, and most caring soul I would ever have the pleasure to call friend. Years passed, but I never forgot the pride he showed in his profession, and the care he showed toward "his kids." My sincerest condolences to the Litton family, and may you rest in peace, Leonard.

I open up my FB pg to see that my favorite bus driver had pass away. The while time went to Clay Co schools he was my bus driver. I was always in trouble, but he don't understand what I was going through at home, that's why I acted out on the bus and school. Back in 2006 my first husband died, Leonard showed outta the blue to pay his respects. I hadn't seen him since 1998. I love this man. I can here him now getting on me about something. Probably the many times I got into with the uppity neighbors. My heart and prayers go out to his family and friends. He's with his wife now.

As a young teacher, I was privileged to meet Leonard Litton. He was kind, he was funny, and he was honest (except when he was telling something he made up, and I was swallowing it hook, line and sinker.) He was a friend to me and one of the many fine people I met in Clay County. To his children and extended family: please accept my sympathy and my prayers.
