Jonas Hill Obituary
Jonas Wilson (JW) Hill, 85, of Alta, WV went to his heavenly home on November 8, 2021 after a long illness.
JW was a retired coal miner for Cannelton Industries. Most importantly, he preached the gospel for 68 years. He attended The First Church of God of Alta for many years. He was loved by everyone who knew him.
He was the son of the late Dow and Garnett Hill of Marting, WV. Survived by his sister, Margaret Hill of Tennessee. Left to cherish his wonderful memories are his wife of 67 years, Ruby Hill, sons, Larry (Brenda) of Hurricane, Terry (Christine) of Pratt, Charles (Deborah) of Mt. Nebo, and daughter, Cynthia Sagraves (Timothy) of Summersville. He had twelve grandchildren and ten great granchildren.
Services will held at Pennington-Smith Funeral Home in Gauley Bridge with Pastor Denver Danberry officiating. Services will be at 1:00 PM on Friday, November 12, 2021. Visitation for friends will begin at 11:30 AM. Burial will follow at Kanawha Valley Memorial Gardens in Glasgow, WV.
