Anita Florence Truman, 54, of Ivydale, West Virginia went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, following a long battle with multiple illnesses.
Anita was born on November 3, 1970, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
She was the daughter of Ferrell Austin Truman and Betty Helen Summers (Truman).
Anita graduated from Clay County High School in 1989 then went on to receive multiple college degrees. She was strong-willed and intelligent. When Anita set her mind upon a goal she wouldn’t stop until it was completed. She earned a degree in Forestry and a Master's degree of Education in Special-Needs.
Anita succeeded at many careers throughout her lifetime but, she fondly recalled her days being a Special Education Teacher in Clay County, West Virginia. She loved her students dearly and still kept in touch with them and their families after retiring due to her health conditions. Forestry held a special place in her heart as well. She enjoyed surveying trees and made it her mission to protect the environment. Anita enjoyed spending time in nature watching butterflies, feeding wild animals, picking flowers and four-leaf clovers. She loved exploring West Virginia and longed to travel. She loved spending time with family and friends. Many of her favorite times were camping trips and having family get-togethers. She loved to watch her grandchildren grow. She would attend all their school events and extracurricular activities. Anita would often brag to others about her family, saying that God had blessed her. She valued the relationships she made with friends and neighbors. She helped anyone in need and gave freely with an open heart.
Anita attended church at Lighthouse Baptist Church in Ivydale, WV. Her faith was an important value to her, and she shared her testimony of the Lord’s work throughout her life.
