Arthur Dale Morris

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Arthur Daley “Dale” Morris—a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Dale passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, May 9, 2025, at the age of 76, with his two daughters by his side, surrounded by their love. 

Dale was a man of unwavering love and compassion. He had a rare gift: no matter what you said or did, he was always there listening, supporting, loving unconditionally. His presence was a steady source of comfort and strength, and his heart was big enough to hold everyone he cared for. 

He is survived by his devoted daughters, Breanna (Adam) Morris and Patsy (Larry) Morris; his cherished grandchildren, Christopher, Devin, Rhyanna, Hayden, Kyleighanna, Peyton, Liam, Gunner, Lincoln, and Dezirae; his loving siblings, Kris Jerrell, Brent Morris, Jeff Morris, Joyce Clarke, Judy Smith, Jill Messinger, Shannie (JC) Taylor, and Mike (Beckey) Morris; and a wide circle of friends who will carry his memory forever in their hearts. We want to especially thank Valorie and Felica Taylor and Lowell “Pappy” Grey, whose presence and support over the past few months meant so much to us. 

Dale is reunited in death with his loving wife, Meloanie Workman Morris; his beloved granddaughter, Adrianna Morris; his parents, Patrick and Kathleen (Osborne) Morris; and his brothers, James “Jimmy Doodle” and Tyrone “Tykie” Morris. 

As we say goodbye to this extraordinary man, we celebrate the boundless love he gave as well as the joy and laughter he brought into our lives. A memorial service to honor his life and legacy will be held at the Morris Family Cemetery on Leatherwood Road in Bickmore, WV where we will gather to honor his life and the incredible impact he made on us all. The date and time will be announced as soon as they are finalized.  

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Wilson Smith Funeral Home to help provide Dale with the burial he wished for. His spirit of generosity and deep love for others will live on in those who knew him. 

We would also like to extend our deepest gratitude to his hospice nurses, Shawna and Amy, and his hospice social worker, Jennifer. Your compassion and care helped us fulfill his final wish of being home, surrounded by family. We are forever grateful to each of you. 

Rest in peace. You will be deeply missed, but your spirit will continue to shine brightly in our hearts.  

Graveside Service will be at 1:00 pm, Saturday, May 17, 2025, at The Morris Family Cemetery, Leatherwood Road, Bickmore, WV with Andrew Boggs officiating.
