Charlotte Loraine Ray (James) born September 30, 1941, in Gassaway, WV. She went to be with the lord early in the morning on February 23, 2025. She was preceded in death by her parents, Shedric James and Vera James (Hawkins), She will be met at the Gate of Heaven by her 2 brothers, Charles and Ray, she will also get to see her beloved son Charles Edward Ray (Eddie). She will be greatly missed by the survivors who mourn her. Her Husband Arthur E. Ray, her daughter, Sherri L. Bennett (husband Bill), Her Daughter-in-Law Lisa Ray, Her Grandchildren, Frank, Ray, James (wife Kitty), Darren, Lori, and her great grandchildren, Jessica, Vera, and Scottie as well as many other nieces, nephews, friends and family she loved dearly.
After Ed separated from the Marine Corps, she went on to become the Valley Fork Postmaster in 1967. She was very beloved, many people will miss her, and her family will always hold her in their hearts, and most of all, she loved Jesus Christ with her whole soul mind and body and was a wonderful example to her children and family for how to be a Christian. She will be sorely missed and remembered as long as any of us are alive.
Funeral service will be held at Wilson Smith Funeral Home on Wednesday February 26, 2025, at 1:00 with a one-hour visitation prior from 12- 1 for friends and family.
