Cindy Griffin Obituary

Cindy Louann Griffin (née Jarvis)

June 20, 1958 – November 20, 2025

Cindy Louann Griffin, 67, of West Virginia, formerly of Dover, Delaware, passed away peacefully on November 20, 2025, surrounded by the five children she loved with every fiber of her being.

Born June 20, 1958, in Dover, Delaware, to James and Mabel Jarvis, Cindy spent most of her life in the state she cherished before moving to West Virginia. She was a dedicated nurse for the State of Delaware for many years. Cindy would help anyone she could and she never forgot a birthday or anniversary—no matter how distant the cousin or old friend. She found joy in simple things: her cats and dogs curled up beside her, a new craft project spread across the table, and especially her sketch pad, where she could bring horses to life with a pencil in a way that left everyone who saw her drawings in awe. She also enjoyed karaoke with her friends and family and online games in her free time.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Mabel Jarvis; her son Jason Griffin and granddaughters Summer and Sara Sampson; her sister Sandra Weishaupt; her brother James Jarvis; her sister Karen Sanders

Cindy is survived by her longtime partner, Evan Caraballo; her children, Kristie Sampson, Holly Reid, Kelly Ragsdale, John Griffin Jr., and Zachary Griffin; her sister Tammy Prince; her grandchildren, Cortney Dougherty, Brandon White, LiLi Griffin, Shane Reid, Jillian Matt, William Ragsdale III, Justin Sampson, Skyler Ragsdale, Brooke Reid; two precious great-grandchildren, Jae'Lani Griffin, Luca Dougherty; and a wide circle of family and friends who will carry her kindness forward.

Private cremation has taken place. A memorial service to celebrate Cindy’s life will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you perform a small act of kindness in Cindy’s memory—because that’s exactly what she would have done for you.

Rest in peace Mommy. You are greatly missed.
