Delford D. Acree, 95, of Summersville, WV, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 4, 2022, at home with his son Jeff, daughter-in-law Reba, and caregiver and very dear friend, Debbra Ford at Locust Point, VA.
He was born April 15, 1927, at home in Summersville, Nicholas County, WV, and was the son of the late G. O. Acree and Bessie White Acree. He worked for, and retired from, Union Carbide in Alloy, WV. Delford was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 66 years, Doris Hathaway Acree, his sister Virginia Acree Morford, and brothers Arden, Ralph, Almon, and John.
Delford is survived by his son Jeffrey Acree (Reba) of Locust Point, VA; daughter Barbara Acree of Melbourne, FL; grandchildren Anita Ventura (Solin) of Alexandria, VA, and David Harris of Melbourne, FL; great-grandchildren Aaron and Raven Ventura; and his brother Norval Acree, of Clay, WV.
Per Delford’s wishes, a graveside service will be held at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Wallback, WV, on August 17, at 1 p.m.
