Dennis Ray Gray

Dennis Ray Gray, 76, born January 28, 1949, of Lizemores, WV passed away Monday August 11, 2025, after a long illness. Dennis was a Clay County High School graduate, a Vietnam Combat Veteran, and a retired coal miner. He is preceded in death by his parents, Delbert and Mary Marie Gray, his siblings, Brenda Stone, Carolyn Norris, Delbert Gray Jr, and brother in law, Tyrus Stone.

He is survived by his wife Shirley Gray, son Jeremy Gray (Kim Companion), daughter, Stacy Cottrell (Jonathan), granddaughters, Gabriella Cottrell and Jaidyn Cottrell, brothers in law, Wayne Woods, Richard Woods, Allen Norris, and sisters in law, Barbara Woods, Wilma McMarrow, Bonnie Woods, Fannie Woods and Jone Kincaid (Charlie). Several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be on August 15,2025 at 1:00 pm at Wilson Smith Funeral Home in Clay, WV. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm with Robert Thomas officiating the service. Burial will follow in the Sunset Cemetery, Leatherwood Road, Bickmore, WV.
