Douglas Ferrell Starcher, 44 of Ivydale, WV passed away unexpectedly on January 22, 2024. He was born on August 1, 1979, in Charleston, WV to Beverly (Jok) Schoonover of Big Otter, WV and David Starcher of Charleston, WV.
In addition to his parents, Doug is survived by his daughters, Courtney (Dominic) Proctor of Ovapa, WV, Lilliann Schoonover of Big Otter, WV, and his son Douglas Pickens of Charleston, WV; three grandchildren by his oldest daughter; Taylynn, Kylen and Cainan; his sister Rebecca Starcher of Charleston, WV and her children Christian, Megan and Caitlyn. As well as many other family and friends.
Douglas attended high school at Clay County High and graduated in the class of 1997. He was employed by W.S. Thomas and was a first-class long haul driver. In Doug’s later years of life, he enjoyed traveling to different places, visiting many concerts of his favorite bands and riding his Harley to different bike rallies across the states. Doug was most notorious for his playful sense of humor, sneaky grin and ability to make others laugh. He loved to hike, an avid reader and being outdoors.
