Earl Friend Obituary
Earl D. Friend, 81 of Clay County West Virginia, died October 9th, 2021 at the Pittsburg VA Hospital.
He was born on July 17th, 1939 in West Virginia. He was proud to serve in the US Air Force for 23 years, and he was decorated with many awards. He worked at Union Carbide, and Bombardier Aerospace in Bridgeport WV. He loved hunting and fishing, was a Baptist, loving husband, father, and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife, Lillie Mae Friend; his son, James Friend and daughter-in-law Jeannine; and his grandchildren, Lauren and her husband Tyler, Logan, and Lydia; two nephews Butch and Rusty of Ohio, as well as a large extended family.
In addition to his parents Leonard and Sylvia Friend, he was preceded in death by his brother William Bill Hambrick of West Virginia, and niece Sabra-Lynn of Ohio.
Services will be held Monday October 18th at the Wilson-Shamblin-Smith Funeral Home in Clay WV. Visitation will be from 12PM – 1PM, followed by a Graveside Service and Burial at Rocky Branch Cemetery in Walton WV, officiated by Reverend Freddie Elliot.
