Ernest Burroughs Obituary

Ernest Randolph Burroughs Sr. 92, of Clay entered into rest August 13, 2013.
Born September 30, 1920 in Braxton, he was the son of the late Emery and Betty (Facemire) Burroughs. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Deloris (Mann) Burroughs, son and daughter in-law Robert E and Juanita Burroughs, sisters, Ruby (Willard) Morris, Nellie Stephenson and sister-in-law Garnie Burroughs.
Ernest was retired from the GM Company of Parma, OH, and a Army Air Corp veteran of WWII and was very proud member of the VFW Post 4419 Clay. He drove the VA van transport over 1000 hours and a member of the Clay Community Church and was Trustee.
Ernest is survived by his daughters, Margaret B (John) Stapleton of IN, sons, Ernest R Burroughs Jr. of Clay, Daniel (Ann) Samkas of Cleveland, OH, 8 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, brother, Okey Burroughs of Clay and step brother, Paul (Garnett) Johnson of S.C.
Funeral service will be held 11:30 am Friday, August 16, 2013 Wilson-Shamblin-Smith Funeral Home, Clay, with Minister Kenneth Adkins officiating. Burial will be in the Sunset Cemetery, Bickmore.
