Gary Henry "Sonny" Butcher

Gary Henry “Sonny” Butcher 80, of Ivydale, WV, passed away April 26, 2023, he was the son of the late Dink and Gay (Harold) Butcher of Maysel, WV, he is also preceded in death by his wife of 60 years Joyce Ann (Ward) Butcher.

Sonny is survived by his children Gary (Lesha) Butcher Jr, of Ivydale, Lisa ( Rusty) Murphy of Dog Run, WV, brother Jerry Butcher of Louisville, Ohio, grandsons, David  (Christina)Blankenship  of Dog Run, Garren (Destiny) Butcher of Lost Creek, WV, Luke (Erica) Smith of Dog Run, WV, Ethan ( Jamie) Smith of Dog Run, great-grandchildren, Taylor and Jackson Blankenship, Claudia and Odessa Butcher, Elsie and Evie Smith.

Sonny retired for the WV DOT, he enjoyed travel, outdoors and spending time with his family,

He will be greatly missed by all.

The Family would like to thank the people who took special effort to help us with our dad at any time needed.

Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at 11:00 am at Harold Cemetery, Uler, WV, with minister John R. Osborne officiating.  A Visitation for friends and family will be held on Monday evening, May 1, 2023 at Wilson Smith Funeral Home, Clay, WV, from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M.
