Genevieve (Holcomb) Gibson

In loving memory of Genevieve Gibson (Holcomb), daughter of the late Richmond M. Holcomb and Esta M. Holcomb (Nottingham).

She was the mother of Stella M. Hamrick (Linda) of Buffalo, NY, Gregory B. Gibson, Robert S. Gibson (Stacy), Roger C. Gibson (Gloria) of Buffalo, NY, Cynthia Gibson (Cindy) of Summersville, WV, and Richard M. Gibson (Marty) of Buffalo, NY. She was also a loving grandmother of 18 grandchildren as well as a great-grandmother to 20 great-grandchildren.

She leaves behind her 4 sisters, several nieces and nephews, as well as numerous friends. She is survived by her sisters Dorotha Vae Taylor (Mike), Barbara J. Sanders, Retta Brown, and Judy L. Elkins (Hoye). She was preceded in death by her 2 sons, Gregory and Robert, her 2 sisters, Avis A. Murphy and Bernice L. Brege, and her brother, Roger L. Holcomb.

Her funeral service will be held at Wilson Smith Funeral Home in Clay, WV on December 29th, 2025 at 2:00 p.m., with pastor Justin Neal officiating and a visitation for family and friends prior to from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at the Holcomb Cemetery in Bickmore, WV.
