Harry (Joe) Roosevelt Keener, 85, of Clay County, WV, went home to be with the Lord on August 26th, 2025. He was born on April 28, 1940, in Clay County. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Gertrude and Harry Keener, and his sister, Norma Jean Keener.
He was the loving and devoted husband of Elizabeth Jane Keener, with whom he shared 46 loving years of marriage. He was survived by his brother, Dana Earl Keener. He was also survived by his children, Sarah Ann Keener, Jillian Lee Keener, Shari Keener Tolan, and Joseph Bryan Keener. He had two grandchildren, Melissa and Matthew Tolan, and four great-grandchildren, Liam Tolan, Brody Tolan, Levi Tolan, and Lainey Dawe.
Harry Joe graduated from Clay High School. He served in the United States Army and was a welder and a foreman at Terry Eagle Coal Company. Harry Joe was a gifted guitar player, and he loved to play music. He was a strong Christian and had a great love of Jesus. He had a great sense of humor, and he was a loving and devoted family man. He will be deeply missed by all of us.
Due to Harry Joe’s own wishes, there will be no funeral services. Since there is no funeral service in lieu of flowers, you can give to your favorite charity or church.
