Inez Loving Jarvis, 93, of Harrison, WV, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 4, 2026. She passed away peacefully at the Hubbard Hospice House in Charleston, WV.
Inez is survived by her only son, Calvin Wayne Young (Debbie), granddaughter April Dawn, and great-grandchildren Jeremy and Elizabeth as well as eight nieces and two nephews. From her marriage to Thomas James “Tom” Young, she is survived by 29 step-grandchildren.
Born on October 31, 1932, in Swandale, WV, to the late Joseph Franklin and Dessie Jane Salisbury Loving, Inez was the last surviving member of the immediate family.
Inez was an avid quilter and gardener for most of her life. For several years, she quilted professionally for Cabin Creek. A faithful churchgoer, she frequented People’s Community Church and Groves Creek Community Church, both in Duck, WV.
A celebration of Inez's life will be held at People’s Community Church on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. with receiving of family and friends at noon. The Reverend Freddie Schoolcraft, pastor of People’s Community Church, will conduct the service. Interment at the nearby Chapman Cemetery and dinner at People’s Community Church will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to People’s Community Church or Groves Creek Community Church. Wilson Smith Funeral Home in Clay, WV, is handling the arrangements for the family.
The family extends special appreciation to neighbor and family friend Phillip Bailey and caregivers Carol Woods and Candace Hamrick as well as to the doctors and nurses of the Charleston Area Medical Center’s Cardiac Intensive Care Unit and the Hubbard Hospice House.
