James “Randy” Randall Rapp, 70, of Clay, WV went to be with the Lord on February 18, 2024.
He was the son of James “Pistol” Rapp and the late Margaret Rapp. He grew up in Widen, WV. Randy was a member of New Antioch Baptist Church where he loved serving the Lord by preaching and singing. He also worked in the coal mines for over 40 years before retiring and spending time with his family and friends especially his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
James is survived by his loving wife Louise Rapp of 52 years. They have 3 children, Tina Coleman (James Sawyer), Shelley (Duane) Taylor and Jimmy (Ashley) Rapp. He has several grandchildren that thought the world of their papa, Tasha (Matthew) Knight, Kelsie Adkins (Ethan Lilly), Kayla Adkins, Brooklyn Taylor (Matthew Doss), Skyler Rapp (Isaih Hamrick), Addison Taylor, Brogan Rapp and Autumn Rapp. He has 3 great grandchildren and one on the way, Sloane Knight, Hudson Hamrick, Brinzley Doss and baby Asher (Lilly is due in May 2024); He has 3 sisters, Marlene (Roy) Wood, Tammy (Jerry) Stuck and Christine (Chris) Lingenfelter; 3 brothers, Andy (Sharil) Rapp, Lloyd Rapp and late Teddy Rapp.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday February 24, 2024, at Wilson Smith Funeral Home, Clay, WV, a viewing for family and friends will be from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm at the funeral home, with Minster Gary Walker officiating. Burial will follow in the Ramsey Cemetery, Dog Run Road, Clay, WV.
