James Patrick Summers, 76 of Ovapa, WV passed on March 1, 2022, following a short period of declining health. James was born August 2, 1945, to the late Patrick and Della White Summers. He served in the US Army and was a Vietnam War Veteran.
Jim spent much of his life on the road as a long-distance truck driver. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He had a passion for buying and selling older model vehicles. Jim will be remembered for his fun sense of humor and lighthearted spirit.
James is survived by his son Kevin (Monica) Summers of Orrville, Ohio. Grandson Trevor (Maggie) Summers, Granddaughter Madison Summers, Grandson Benjamin Summers, Great Grandson Brody Summers, all of Orrville, Ohio. A sister Charlotte (Roy) Jett of Maysel. Special Friend Pat Harper of Ovapa. Several nieces and nephews.
James was preceded in death by his parents and several siblings.
A celebration of life service will take place Saturday March 12, 2022, at Wilson Smith Funeral Home, Clay, WV, at 1:00 pm, with a one-hour visitation for friends and family from 12:00 to 1:00 Burial will be immediately following at Phillips Cemetery in Ovapa.
