James A. Ward, 83, of Ivydale, WV, went to his heavenly home on December 23, 2024, surrounded by his family. Jim is survived by his wife, Barb, of 62 years, his daughters, Cindy Boggs (Jackie), Pam Ratliff (Dino), and Vickie Gency (Greg), Grandchildren, Anthony Boggs (Megan), Jennifer Gency (Russ) and Jonathan Gency, Great Granddaughters, Sophia and Adalyn Boggs and Kourtney and Kinslie Murphy. Jim is also survived by his sister, Myrna Jordan and Brother, Charles Ward. Special thanks to his cousin and lifelong friend Johnny “Shag” Ward.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, Clarence and Victoria Ward and sister Barbara Jo Cummings.
Jim was a veteran of the United States Army, worked at FMC, Vecellio and Grogan, then retired from Majestic Mining in Widen, WV.
Jim enjoyed spending time with his family, riding his bicycle, sitting on his porch and spending time at Garden City Beach, South Carolina.
Graveside service will be held at Ward's Cemetery in Ivydale, West Virginia, at 11 am on Saturday, December 28, 2024.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Jim's memory to Ivydale Methodist Church, 9548 Ivydale Road, Ivydale, WV 25113.
