Joan Karlyon (Davis) Moore

Our Mother, Joan Karlyon (Davis) Moore, was born on September 13th, 1949, in Dayton, Ohio. The 13th child of Howard and Edith Davis. Mom lost her beloved mother at the tender age of 3, but despite this tragedy, or because of it, she became an amazing and attentive mother to the four of us, Timothy, Tamara, Teresa and Tina. She also dedicated 28 years to a job she loved, working with children for Clay County Schools. We lost our father, Trellis Moore, the day after their 51st wedding anniversary, 5 years ago.

Earlier this year she experienced the worst thing that could happen to a parent, the loss of a child, our precious sister, Teresa. Although she will be deeply missed by those of us left behind, we are comforted that she will now be surrounded by all those who have been awaiting her arrival in heaven

Survived by son: Tim (Cynthia) Moore OF Dixie, WV. Daughters: Tamara (Ronald) Eads of Spencer, WV and Tina (Thomas) Gray of Oak Hill, WV.

Grandchildren: Corey Moore, Alesha Hall, Nicholas Moore, Jordan Murphy, Lillian Gray all of WV. Candance Coker, Liann Millikan, Hannah Dobbs and Alyssa Shaffer all of Ga. 13 Greatgrandchildren. Sisters: Katherine Rogers, Charlotte Jeffers, and Ruth King all of Ohio, Patricia Schoonover and Pamela Haynes of WV.

Brothers: Lawrence and Teddy Davis of Ohio. And Benjamin Boggs of WV.

Preceded in death by her Husband of 51 years Trellis Moore and Daughter Teresa Shaffer of Ga. Parents Howard and Edith Davis. Sisters: Zelma, Lillian, Nina and Anna. Brothers: Grover, Granville and Ronnie.

Funeral service for Joan will be Saturday January 8, 2022 at 1:00 at Wilson Smith Funeral Home, Clay WV, with a one hour visitation for friends and family from 12:00 to 1:00 pm, burial will follow at Sunset Cemetery.
