Joseph C. Hoffman, 86, of Twenty Mile, WV passed away in Hospice care on Tuesday, December 14th, 2021.
He was born September 11th, 1935 to the late Joseph Hoffman and the late Nellie Craft.“J.C.”, as he was known by many, retired from the Nicholas County Board of Education as a Principal, where he was employed for many years. Prior to his education career, he proudly served in the Army and was honorably discharged in 1964 with a rank of SP4.He loved being outdoors and enjoyed farming.
He was preceded in death by his wife Sandra J. Hoffman, whom he married in 1973; son, Douglas Hoffman of FL; brothers Patrick Hoffman and David D Hoffman of Summersville, WV. He is survived by his sister, Bonnie Wiseman of TN; sons, James R. Hoffman and wife, Devann of Fairmont, and Michael Hoffman of WV; stepdaughters, Vicky L. Underwood and Cathy J. Hartley and husband, Jeff of Summersville. He was also a proud grandparent to 6 grandchildren and great-grandparent to 4 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at Pennington Smith Funeral Home in Gauley Bridge Dec. 18, 2021, at 1:00 pm with a one hour visitation prior to.
