Leonard (Buddy) Leon McGlothlin, Sr., 83 of Clay, WV passed away after a short illness on February 7, 2024.
He was born on August 18, 1940, in Widen, WV to the late Presley and Esther (Triplett) McGlothlin. He was preceded in death by his sister Helen Johnson and brother Jack McGlothlin.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Evelyn (Brady) McGlothlin; sisters Phyllis Nicholas, Janie Scott, and Gail Brady of Clay, WV and Susie Rasdon of Hoxie, Arkansas; brothers Clyde McGlothlin and Eddie McGlothlin of Clay, WV; daughters Denise McGlothlin (Gil) of Denver, CO and Christina McGlothlin-Boggs (Scott) of Lexington KY; sons Buzzy McGlothlin (Laurabeth) of Duck WV, Broderick McGlothlin (Shonette) of Charleston WV, Eric McGlothlin (Yvette) of Clay WV, and Junior McGlothlin (Jasmine) of Chloe WV; grandchildren Jessica, Tabitha, Derick, Jordan M, Jordan P, Stephanie, Brandon, Dylan, Sydney, Eric, Lucas, Jackson, Micah, and Sadie; 5 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and lots of friends who considered him family.
Funeral services will be at 2 pm on Monday, February 12, 2024, at the Wilson- Smith Funeral Home in Clay, WV with Pastor Wayne Litton officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm. Graveside services will follow at the Triplett Family Cemetery.
The family welcomes everyone to gather for fellowship and story swapping at the Clay First Baptist Church at 4pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Triplett Family Cemetery Fund, c/o of Rocky Nutter, Clay County Bank, 150 Main Street, Clay WV 25043.
