Lourean Carol Haught (nee Summers) 87, of Lakewood, Ohio, passed away Saturday, November 8, 2025. She was born February 3, 1938, in Clay County, West Virginia, to the late Lorenza Kester Summers, Sr. and Elsie Mae Summers (nee Morris). Beloved wife of deceased Horace Leonard Haught, Jr.; devoted mother of Kimberly Sue Blunk (Michael) and Leonard Kevin Haught; loving granddaughter Amanda Louse Lauter (boyfriend Nick Yenchik) all of Lakewood, Ohio. Beloved sisters Nina (Earl) Tanner of Willard, Ohio, Patricia (Dana deceased) Miller of Willard, Ohio; deceased Margaret (Roger) Meadows of Lakewood, Ohio, and Karen (Michael) Memmer of Bay Village, Ohio; brother Lorenza Kester Jr., “Joe” (deceased Mary Lou) Summers of Wallback, West Virginia; dear brother-in-law of James (deceased Wannalee) Haught of Hagerstown, Maryland, deceased sisters Dorcas Cain (deceased Joe), Deale Wright (deceased Keith); and many nephews and nieces.
Carol (who was affectionately known as “Cub”) graduated from Clay High School, Clay, West Virginia in 1956; she then attended Glenville State and taught school for a few years prior to moving to Cleveland, Ohio, where she worked in retail. She was employed by an insurance company until she and Leonard became the proud parents of Kimberly and later Kevin. Carol then became a stay-at-home mother and later grandmother to Amanda for the remainder of her life. She was a loving and caring mother and grandmother and always put her family first. Many summers were spent vacationing in Canada with her family as well as other family members.
Visitation will be at 12:30 p.m. at Wallback United Methodist Church on Saturday, November 15, with funeral service beginning at 1:00 p.m., officiated by Pastor Leslie Gallian, followed with burial at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Wallback, West Virginia.
