Nellie Jane Ramsey

Nellie Ramsey of Pineville, WV went home to be with the Lord on August 15, 2025. 

Born July 13, 1962, in Clay WV, she was the oldest child and first-born daughter of the late Roy "John" Stephenson and Mildred Stephenson. In addition to her parents, she is proceeded in death by her husband, Monty Ramsey and her sister, Jackie Stephenson.

She is survived by her 3 children, William Woods of Naoma, WV, Mildred "Millie" Basham and husband Chris of Ferrum, Va, and Jackie Woods of Beckley, WV. Also surviving are her siblings, Roy Jr. and wife Elaine of Fairdale, WV, Danny Stephenson and wife Peggy of Glen Daniel, WV and Annetta Hanks of Summersville, WV; 5 grandchildren, Trevor, Samantha, Braxton, Skylar and Everly; she leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. 

The family would like to extend their thanks to the staff of Rose Manor, Pineville, WV for their care of Nellie over the last several years as well as Raleigh General Hospital, and Pine Lodge Skilled Nursing Facility for their care in her final days. 

Graveside service will be held at 1pm on Sunday August 24,2025 in Stephenson Cemetery, Pisgah Ridge at Clay, WV with arrangements made by Wilson-Smith Funeral Home at Clay, WV.
