“Okey Ray Runion, 76, passed away on October 8th, 2024.
Born on July 31st, 1948, to the late Ellen “Marie” Runion and the late Don Runion in Clay County, West Virginia. In addition to his father and mother, he was preceded in death by his brother’s Robert “Bubby” Runion, Donald Lee “Leebug” Runion, Franklin “Frankie” Runion, Eugene Runion, and Phyllis Cummings.
Okey is survived by his sister, Geraldine Cummings; his brother’s, Kenny Runion, Jimmy Runion, and Johnny Runion; his daughter’s Stephanie Mitchell, Angela “Angie” Woods, and Shwanna Crutcher; his son in law, William “Bill” Mitchell; his grandchildren, Cynthia “Cindy "Davis-Clark, Megan Smith, Alexis “Alex” Woods, Sierra “Finn” Woods, Zachary “Zach” Woods, and Matthew “Matt’ Woods; his grandson in law, Antonio Davis-Clark and Hunter Smith; his granddaughter in law, Kyllie Thorne; his great grandchildren, Waylon Smith and Amelia “Milly” Woods. His caretaker’s, Jennifer Harrison and Rose Cottrell.
Okey was a God fearing man and an incredible father. His dedication to his family and community was inspiring. His guidance and support has helped many throughout his lifetime. He grew up enjoying fishing, hunting, and anything outdoors. We will always remember his kind heart, generous spirit, and unwavering optimism.”
A memorial Service will be held at a later date.
