Orville Lester Buck Hickman, age 76, of Vermillion Ohio, passed away at Mercy New Life Hospice of St. Joseph on Thursday, April 11, 2024. Buck was born on March 15, 1948, in Dixie, West Virginia. He also lived in Clay West Virginia until he moved to this area for 51 years ago. He is a 1967 graduate of Clay High School. Shortly after Buck moved to his area, he began his career for Ford Motor Company. He began work at their Lorain plant eventually retired from their Avon Lake plant after 50 years of dedicated employment. He adored his family and cherished every moment and memory he ever had. Buck also enjoyed football, especially the Pittsburgh Steelers as well as NASCAR. His loved ones will forever remember him for his great endless sense of humor and his big, kind heart.
Orville is survived by his loving wife, Mary Beth Hickman, sons, Angelo James (Jeannine) Hickman, of AR; Chad Hickman, Clay, daughters, Adrianna Hickman, of Avon Lake, Ohio and Nicole (Nick) West of Vermilion, Ohio; 11 grandchildren; and sisters Barbara Elaine (Derious) Cumming, of Procious, WVA, and Karen (Ernie) Hickman Curley, of Calabash, N. Carolina. He was preceded in death by his parents, Basil E and Marjorie M Hickman and his brother Michael Wayne Hickman. Grandparents, Harvey and Mary Hickman. Homer and Martha Hickman. Aunts and Uncles.
Buck’s inurnment will be in Clay Memorial Gardens, Clay West Virginia, Saturday, October 5 at 11 O’clock with Minister John Osborne officiating.
