Robert (Bob) Grant Drake entered into rest at age 66 after a long courageous fight with AML.
COME WITH ME
God saw you getting tired, and a cure was not to be.
So, He put His arms around you and whispered 'Come with Me.'
With tearful eyes
We watched you suffer and saw you fade away,
Although we loved you dearly
We could not make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating,
Hard working hands at rest,
God broke our hearts to prove
He only takes the best.
He is preceded in death by his parents Lloyd and Frances Drake and his brother Ronnie Drake.
He is survived by his daughter Sherry and son in law Bill Drennen; his sister Donna (Lynn) Drake of Ivydale and brother James Drake of Greenville Pa.
And his pride and joy who he adored his 3 grandchildren Chasity (Gavon), Amber and Kenzi Drennen; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was a diehard WVU fan, he had a contiguous smile. He will be deeply missed.
Special thanks to the nurses of Thomas hospital on the 4th floor (especially all 3 of the number 1 girls) who took care of my daddy no matter how much trouble he gave them, and we could not have done this journey without his superhero as he called him Dr. John at Thomas cancer center.
A private service will be held.
