Ryan Scott Bird

Ryan Scott Bird unexpectedly departed this life on December 30, 2025, at his home in Fola, WV surrounded by family.

Ryan was born on May 26, 1988, to Bruce Bird of Alta, WV and Teresa Bird of Elkview, WV. Paternal grandparents are the late Freddie Bird and Martha Bird of Dixie, WV.  Maternal grandfather, the late Junior Ohse and maternal grandmother, Nona Carte of Elkview, WV.

Ryan had artistic charm, enjoyed the outdoors, hunting arrowheads, and spending time with family and friends, especially the love of his life Misty Winebrenner and their three children Lakin Isabella, Holden Timothy and Ainsley Jane Bird of Fola, WV. Ryan’s oldest son Braydin Scott resides in Ivydale, WV. Ryan loved all his children, but his youngest daughter, Ainsley Jane, was a true Daddy’s girl.

Ryan’s siblings include his brothers, B.J. Bird, Brenin Bird, Peyton Bush and Noah Bush and sisters, Jessica Angel and Breanna Gallagher. Ryan is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, family and friends including his adorable great-nephew Waylon Wade (aka Waybird). All will miss him tremendously.

Ryan had a contagious smile and a gentle heart that will not be forgotten. Ryan’s goodness and love will leave a legacy in the heart of those who had the pleasure of knowing and loving him.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at 1:00 pm at Wilson Smith Funeral Home, Clay, WV with visitation an hour prior to the service from 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm with David James officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunset Cemetery, Bickmore, WV.
