Sandra Lee Carte

Sandra Lee Carte (Sonnie) 81, of Clay, WV gained her wings Friday, May 15, 2026 in Gastonia N.C. surrounded by her loving family. She was Born March 9, 1945 in Clay, West Virginia. She was the daughter of the late C. Earl and Ruby L. Carte. In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by her son David Allen Summers, daughter Robin Dale Brown, Son-in-law Fabian Gene Brown, sisters Carolyn Elaine Rogers, Linda Sue Stephenson, and Wanda Kay Chapman.
Sandra was an LPN and worked at various nursing homes over her nursing career. Mostly, Sandra loved her family and friends more than anything. She was loved by all who met her and she will be greatly missed.
Sandra is survived by her daughter Felicia Cottrell of Gastonia NC, Grandsons Adam Morris (Ashley) of Gastonia NC, Cody Ramsey (Marissa) of Bickmore WV, Casey Brown of Clay WV, and Laura Adkins of Kentucky. Grandsons Keigan and Gage Larch. Great grandsons Slade and Leelan Morris, Creed and Ryker Ramsey, great grand daughters Addie Morris and Freya Brown. Brother and sister-n-law Robert and Connie Carte, sisters and brother n laws Beverly and Johnny Stewart and Ronda and Kevin Dennis all of Clay, WV as well as a very large extended family whom loved her deeply.
Viewing will be Tuesday May 26, 2026 at 3 p.m. for family and friends and services will start at 4 p.m. at the Wilson-Smith Funeral Home with Pastor Michael Spurlock officiating. Burial will be at the Clay Memorial Gardens, Clay, WV. A dinner in Honor of Sandra will be held at Fairview Baptist Temple following the services.
