Sebert "Shorty" Dorsey Jr. Obituary

Sebert "Shorty" Nelson Dorsey Jr was born to Sebert "Buster" and Reba (Morton) Dorsey on May 18, 1938, and entered into rest December 24,2025.  Shorty spent his first Heavenly Christmas with his wife, Jean Carol (Walker) Dorsey who preceded him in death in February 2025.  They were married for 65 years and two days.  

Shorty spent many years providing for his family working in the mining industry for Union Carbide.  

Shorty was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings Charles, Bobby, Elsie Lou, Rosa Lea, Shelba Jean, and his great-grandson Sawyer Dorsey

He is survived by his siblings Jerry, Elaine, Lorena, Lynn, Carolyn and Eva June and his children Todd (Tammy), Danny (Stacie), Curtis (Amber), and Rebecca (Joe). Grandchildren Zach (Mary), Trinity (Bailey), Dalton (Adrien), Dylan, Trey, Brinnah, Mollie, Ethan, Parker, Mallorie, Taylor, Brett, Nathan, Mason and Hannah. Great-grandchildren Asher, Anniston, Landyn, Archer, Maraya, Vella, Cree, and Karsyn.

The family would like to send out a special thanks to Hospice Care for providing comfort and support.  

Services will be Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at Carl Wilson Funeral Home Clay, WV. Visitation from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm, funeral service at 1:00 pm with Larry Gawthrop officiating. Burial will be at Morton Cemetery, Pack Fork Rd. Lizemore, WV
