Sharon Kay (Holcomb) Gray

    Sharon Kay (Holcomb) Gray passed away peacefully on August 20, 2025, after a short journey with brain cancer. She passed through Heaven’s Gates surrounded in love by her children, grandchildren, and three dear family friends.  To her final moments Sharon maintained her beautiful smile, kindness, grace, and love of family and friends. 

     Sharon’s life can best be described by five "F" words: Family, Friends, Flowers, Food and Fun. In her 78 years here with us she experienced an abundance of each. She could also whistle like a bird and sing like an angel. 

     Sharon spent her entire adult life devoted to her husband, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, church families, and dear friends. She was a loving pastor’s wife and mother figure to all that met her. To know Sharon was a blessing; to be loved by Sharon was to have received a treasured gift from God.  She was famous for always being ready to spring into action to help someone in need; as soon as she grabbed “a quick shower and fast cup of coffee!”

     Sharon is survived by her three children and their spouses: Michael and Angie Gray, Rebecca and Monty Wheeler, and Sarah and Adam Gandee. Also, Debbie Fraley and Kim Spears, daughters of her heart. 

Grandchildren: Jeffery and Caitlyn Preast, Leighann (Gray) and Brandon Cole, Michael Scott and Molly Gray, Hannah Workman and Mason Smith, Isaac and Eli Workman, Michael, Ada May, Ira, Ari, and Leia Gandee, and Aaron Spears. 

Great Grandchildren: Magnolia and Brooks Preast, Maria Cole, Josie and Sadie Gray, Ryder Jako, Jaxon, Laina, and James Smith. 

     Sharon was proceeded to Heaven by her husband of 52 years, Woody Gray, her mother and father, her sister, her three brothers, multiple grandbabies, family members and friends. There was a magnificent reunion when Sharon Gray arrived in Heaven, and we know she would want you to accept God’s gift of salvation so you can join her there when the time comes! 

Funeral Service will be 1:00 pm, Tuesday August 26,2025 with visitation from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm at the Middle Creek Baptist Church, Bickmore, WV with Pastor John R. Osborne officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunset Cemetery, Leatherwood Road, Bickmore, WV.
