Shelia Joy Mullins (Brown), 77 years old of St. Albans, WV passed away peacefully on March 25, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born October 19, 1947, in Clay County, Shelia was the daughter of the late James Alfred and Flisty (Ramsey) Brown. Shelia loved helping people. She loved being a wife and mother. She enjoyed being outdoors, whether she was working, tending to her garden, or enjoying her beautiful flowers and plants. Shelia was a hard worker, a devoted wife, and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Most importantly, she knew her savior.
She is survived by her children; Vicki (Mullins) Ash (Denver) of Charleston, WV, Gregory Mullins of Charleston, WV, and Cassie Mullins (Jeremy) of Nitro, WV. She is further survived by her grandchildren April. Jonathan, Breana, Gregory II, Jordan, William, Jeremy Jr., Brooklyn and Jaxson, and by her great-grandchildren Colt, Everette, Solara, and Taelynn, also her sister Daisey and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. She was very close friends with Loretta Adkins and Kay Miller. Shelia was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Dencil Ray Mullins.
Shelia was loved by everyone who knew her. She was a sweet, kind, and gentle soul. She was the strongest woman I know-enduring many trials late in life while still working as a caregiver. She also was a caregiver to her disabled husband, and helped care for her mother all at the same time while still raising her youngest child.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at 1:00 pm at Wilson Smith Funeral Home, Clay, WV with visitation one hour prior to the service from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. Burial will follow in the Sunset Cemetery, Bickmore, WV.
