On January 1, 2025, Thornton "Thurman" Bird went home to be with Christ.

Thurman was loving husband, father, grandfather. He was avid fisherman, retired mechanic of the UMWA, and a US Army Veteran.

He is survived by his Son, Timothy Bird; Daughter, Tammy Bird; Grandchildren, Micheal Bird (Syndi), Amber Bird-Kemp (Zach), and Nicholas Davis. Great Granddaughters Kyra Duffield and Hazely Bird; Brother, Charlie Bird; Sisters, Carol Sizemore (Ken), Patty Jones (Randy).

Thurman was preceded in death by Wife, Macil Bird, Grandson, Chad Duffield, and parents, Thornton and Neva Bird. 

Thurman will be missed by friends and family

Graveside Service for Thurman will be held on Wednesday, January 8,2025 at 1:00, at Clay Memorial Gardens, Clay WV.  Wilson Smith is honored to be serving the Bird family.
